Community-Owned Infrastructure

A “happy path” future needs communities that can operate the basics without begging permission from distant monopolies.

What counts as infrastructure

  • Energy generation + storage (and the expertise to maintain it)
  • Connectivity (fiber, mesh, satellite, local networking)
  • Water, sanitation, shelter
  • Local fabrication + repair capacity (tools, parts, test rigs)
  • Compute (on-device, local clusters, and accountable cloud)

The point

Infrastructure isn’t just “utilities” — it’s agency. If you can’t keep the lights on, you can’t keep your institutions coherent.

Investment primitives

  • Open standards + interoperable hardware
  • Maintenance-first design (Lindy: boring wins)
  • Local operator toolchains (docs, training, spare parts)
  • Auditable automation (robots/agents that are inspectable and safe-by-default)
